Review by Susan Sewell of Readers’ Favorite

As If Yesterday by C.J. Vermote is a thrilling suspense story of a young lawyer who is trying to break free from the atrocities of her past. This is a mind-stretching story and I was caught in the web of Mi’s past. As I grieved for the child, I wondered how she was going to escape the fallout from her past that impacts the present. This story gives the reader a view of the repercussions of child abuse and the different ways people respond to it. It is about more than Mi and her inability to face her past. It is about her psyche and how she protects herself. This is a great suspense story that is for a more mature reader. I recommend it for ages sixteen and up.
